APPA Impact Canberra: Strengthening Civics and Citizenship through School Leadership
The Experience
Extend your professional development through a program that blends practical educational takeaways with meaningful cultural immersion. Your day begins with a guided school tour for real-world leadership insights, followed by one of three themed exploration streams:
Stream 1: Civics & Citizenship
School Tour: St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Primary School, Kambah
Site Visits: National Archives of Australia (NAA), National Electoral Education Centre, and the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD)
Stream 2: Science & Environment
School Tour: Throsby School, Throsby
Site Visits: Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG), Royal Australian Mint (RAM), and Questacon
Stream 3: History & Culture
School Tour: Burgmann Anglican School (Valley Campus), Gungahlin
Site Visits: National Museum of Australia (NMA), National Library of Australia (NLA), and the Australian War Memorial (AWM)

The Impact of Self-Care: Sustaining the Leader Behind the Vision
Wellness Activities will be offered on Wednesday, 2 September, providing delegates with the opportunity to pause, reset and enjoy a more relaxed experience alongside the conference program. - Price: $80 per person.
- Capacity: Min 15 / Max 68 participants.
Important Information:
These group wellness experiences include dedicated coach transit budgeted into your package. Places are strictly limited and depend on minimum numbers to run.
In the rare event that minimum numbers are not met, you will be notified well in advance regarding alternatives or refunds.

Accommodation
If you wish to book accommodation, you can choose from the following options:
- Have the accommodation cost included on your registration invoice to pay via EFT or credit card.
- Pay later by credit card. If paying later by credit card, please refer to each hotel’s payment terms on the next page for when your card will be charged by the hotel.

Extended Bookings
We have held rooms for the nights of the conference. If you wish to extend your booking, book your preferred hotel for the conference dates and email mail@conferencedesign.com.au with the additional nights you require. We will confirm the availability with the hotel and send you a new confirmation.
Payment
The total cost of the accommodation will be included on your conference invoice. Once paid, this amount will be transferred to your hotel prior to the conference.
Credit Card Guarantee
You will need to provide full credit card details (including CCV) during booking as a credit card guarantee. You will also need to provide the hotel with a credit card when you check-in to cover incidental expenses incurred during your stay.
Cancellations, Changes and No Shows
All hotels have charges for cancellations, changes and no shows. These are listed with the hotel descriptions.

Payment
Select a payment option to complete your registration:
- Credit Card – A tax invoice and receipt will be included in your confirmation email.
- EFT – A tax invoice with bank details and a payment reference will be included in your confirmation email. Please include the reference with your payment. Overseas payments must include any bank fees.
- Purchase Order – Enter your purchase order number and it will appear on your tax invoice. If you need a tax invoice to obtain a purchase order, select EFT and email us the purchase order number so we can reissue the invoice.
All registrations must be paid by credit card within 60 days of the conference.
*IMPORTANT – Please note, when paying by credit card you will be redirected to an external portal to complete your payment. Please ensure you DO NOT exit the page until you have been directed back to the registration portal.
